Idris Elba has a Bollywood moment with wife Sabrina Dhowre on Cannes 2022 red carpet

It's not every day that you see could-be James Bond having a Bollywood moment on the Cannes red carpet! But May 20, 2022, was the day. Hey, we said could-be Bond, right? Not that Idris Elba needed to be Bond to have our attention – or the world's. The Luther star walked the red carpet at the 75th Cannes Film Festival on Friday, May 20, 2022, for his upcoming film, Three Thousand Years of Longing. His wife, Sabrina Dhowre Elba, was by his side. And they just had a Bollywood moment on the red carpet. Well, at least this picture makes us feel so.

George Miller’s Three Thousand Years of Longing, a follow-up to Mad Max: Fury Road, had a debut at Cannes 2022. The film stars Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton in leading roles. Idris walked the red carpet with co-star Tilda and director George, as well as his wife Sabrina Dhowre Elba. One photograph of the lovely couple posing for the paps on the red carpet gives us total Bollywood feels.

Much like Mad Max: Fury Road, which also premiered at Cannes, the Idris Elba-starrer was showcased at Cannes 2022. Three Thousand Years of Longing was originally slated for a September 2021 release, but the Covid-19 pandemic caused production delays, which pushed the release.

Watch the teaser here:

Three Thousand Years of Longing premieres in theatres on August 31.
