Man confesses to stabbing ex in murder bid

(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 13 – A 50-year-old Verona man on Friday confessed to stabbing his 51-year-old ex girlfriend in the back several times with a kitchen knife Wednesday with the intention of murdering her.
The man, Stefano Fattorelli, has been arrested on charges of trying to murder Sandra Pegoraro, the woman who had left him.
Fattorelli has a history of violence against women and was found guilty of murdering his then girlfriend Wilma Marchi in 1999.
A preliminary investigations judge (GIP) upheld his arrest warrant and sent him to detention in jail. (ANSA).
